MRS. MARY J. KING, OF NEWLONDON, IS SUED FOR$1,000 DAMAGES.Charged With Alies^iog the Affec-tlom of Husband of Mrs.Ella Zarker.The troubles of Mrs. Mary J. King,of New London, who has gained considerable notoriety by her misconduct, are multiplying.Last Fall Mrs. King and a man who was not her husband were arrested in that village on the charge of disorderly conduct. Both were sent by Mayor Smith to the Cleveland workhouse for thirty days. Several months ago Mrs. King's husband, Vernon J. King, obtained a divorce from her on the ground of gross neglect of duty.One day last week Mrs. King and a married man named George Zar-ker, of New London, were arrested in that village for disorderly conduct. Zarker pleaded guilty and was sent to the Cleveland workhouse by Mayor Smith. Mrs. King demanded a hearing which was given Thursday by Mayor Smith.As a result of Mrs. King’s andZarker’s misdeeds Mrs. King has been sued for $1,000 damages by Zarker’s wife, Ella Zarker, for alienating her husband's affections. In her petition, which has been filed in common pleas court here, Mrs. Zarker says that she and her husband have been married thirteen years, and that until February 25 last theylived happily together in Xewr London. On February 25, and on diversother occasions, the petition alleges, Mrs. King, wrongfully, unlawfullyand maliciously intending to depriveplaintiff of the society and services of her husband, “did entice him away with her and induced him to leavethe home of plaintiff in New Londontownship, and to go with defendant to divers places, and received and harbored and detained him in herhome in New’ London village against plaintiff's consent and peaceable efforts to prevent ft, and refused topermit plaintiff to see or be with herhusband until defendant and Zarker were arrested and their unlawful conduct was prevented by the officers of the law.”“For being deprived of the services and society of her husband,”the petition concludes, “plaintiff has suffered great distress of body and mind, and has been put to great trouble and expense by reason of her said acts, all to her damage in thlt;* sum of $1,000, for which she asks judgment.”Mrs. Zarker's attorney is Palmer, of New’ London, who represented Vernon J. King at the trial of his divorce case.
