CHARLES L. MEYERSIS GIVEN DIVORCE — ...Charles L. Meyers, La Vale, clerk in a local department store, has been granted an absolute divorce from Katherine B. Meyers, formerly KatherineB. Dolly, Washington, D. C. Desertion ■was alleged.The couple were married in this city February 8, 1916. They went to Washington on a wedding trip. On the night of iFebruary 12, 1916, it Was alleged, the young bride dressed and left her husband, never since rejoining him. The unusual ending of the honeymoon caused a sensation here and in Washington.A letter written at Washington. D.C., February 18, 1916, and signed Katherine Dolly', which was offered in evidence in the divorce proceedings follows:“Before I left you on February .12,191.6, at -Washington, J definitely decided it, was forever, ami that 1 had mode a great mistake, and that it was best to do what I have done. God only knows what I have suffered and 1 deeply regret having married you.J found out too late that I did not : love you like a husband, and I cannot and will not live with you.” 'F, Brooke Whiting aiid George Louis ; Enpler represented Meyers. ;
