The first meeting ended in a 0-0 tie.*-‘Saturday’s match was marred by numerous fouls and ri altercation involving both teams and a handful of Cypress followers late in the match.• ’ Cypress got into the fight with only 10 players as one had been ejected earlier in the second half for excessive warnings. When the dust settled, the Centurions were minus two more players and Kennedy lost one to red cards.It was very uncool on both our parts to let this game get out of hand,” said Kennedy Coach Rusty Gray. Ferguson, who has scord a goal in each of the three playoff matches and 38 on the year, fired from 18 yards out and caught the goalkeeper by surprise.Alvarez tallied the second goal early in the last half on header off a center by Mike Batory,Kennedy controlled the ball on Cypress’ half of the field for 30 of the 40 regulatory minutes in the first half andallowed Cypress to shoot only twice in the second.The fighting Irish, seeded No. 1, will host Walnut, a 3-1 winner over Crespi, at 3 p.m. Wednesday,In other playoff action:PACIHCA 3, LA QUINTA I: The 2-A third-seeded Mariners didn't have much trouble in handling the Aztecs' , who had advanced to the quarterfinals as a wildcard entry.
