Michael D. Hoffman Jr., 19; Laurel graduateMichael D. Hoffman Jr., 19, of McCaslin Hoad, died at 9:16 p.m. June 27, 1996, in Jameson Hospital following a sudden illness.He was born in New Castle, May 18, 1977, to Michael D. Sr. and Roseann Dando Hoffman. His parents survive at home.Mr. Hoffman was presently enrolled at Youngstown State University. He was a 1995 graduate of Laurel High School where he excelled in basketball, receiving various sports awards throughout his playing career.He belonged to First United Brethren Church.Surviving at home is his brother, Justin Hoffman.Also surviving is his maternalgreat-grandmother, Rose Ger-mani of New Castle.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hilda and Patsy Dando; and his paternal grandparents, Betty Brown and Eugene Hoffman.Arrangements are by the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home Inc., 941 S. Mill St., where friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at DeCarbo’s by the Rev. David Bell, pastor of First United Brethren Church.Contributions may be made to Summerville Family Fund in care of First United Brethren Church.
