Thurmont FiremanDies In AccidentA 33 - year - old volunteer fireman from Thurmont was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his vehicle on rain ’ soaked Md. 77, while he was respond ing to a fire call State Police reports indicate that Douglas Wayne Finneyfrock, 12 Appolds Church Rd., was traveling at a speed too great for conditions when he lost control of the vehicle.Finneyfrock’s vehicle spun around In the road several times before sliding sideways into an electric pole, policesaid Finneyfrock was transported to Frederick Memorial HHospital by the Thurmont ambulance, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr R R. R Roberts, deputy medical examiner for Frederick County.State police listed speed and driver error as contributing factors in the accident
