Queer Mania of Walter E. Harmon For Pretending to SuicideSCARES WIFE NEARLY TO DEATHSHE WOULD RATHER HAVE DIVORCE FROM HIM.■ The queer stunts at pretended suicide in which her husband is in the habit of indulging just for the fun of frightening.her nearly-to death are too much for Lorean Belle Harman, of . Young America, and rather than put up -with them any longer and taking chances on being killed, she would rather have a divorce from Walter IS. Hannon. Accordingly a suit for divorce was ■ filed by her in the Cass circuit court today through Attorney J. H. Neff- and in addition she asks for alimony in the sum of ?200 and the restoration of her maiden name McManama.. According to the complaint the couple were married July 15,-1905, and for a time lived at Burlington where her husband was in the restaurant busi- v ness. Shortly after their, marriage she says, he forbade her going in the company of James L. Johnson and members of liis family and refused to let her entertain any of the Johnson family at her home, claiming that he was insanely jealous of her. • She asserts that the Johnson family are decent, respectable people and are her friends and she can see no reason why -she should not be allowed to associate with them, if she wants tp do so.Some .time last January she moved hack to her home at Young America while .he came to Logansport and took a position .on the traction line,, but some time'-afterward he came to Young America and. caused a sensation by pretending to commit suicide by taking poison and had her call a doctor for him, when in reality he had taken no poison at all. Again last Saturday she says he called at her father’s home and demanded to. see her,'pretending-that he wanted to arrange terms for their separation, and when he was foiled in his attempt to see her he fired several shots from a revolver and then groaned as if ho had been killed, pretending that he had eommitteed suicide, when in reality he was not hurt at all;■These pretensions at suicide gave her reason to iear him and the fact that he purchased a revolver and boasted to her than he had three loads in it for her and two for himself, gave her eause to fear that he would take her life, Mrs. • Harmon is now living with her father at'Young. America,-. They have no children.? -BETHLEHEM DELEGATES.BUi: Ji on. : ave’i hist-fare one. yeai are are' and in a ber laid on ; witl ownGilHailRaTEISYCHHmgwitlandgivejeetsherusithed —I h. : witl and not I dlt; me and I sa mer gOOilast in !FmetsaidtheCOWthalthe;slglleftiustaskShehimloolTatiinfc
