WAY BACK WHENWHO remembers the old City Band? Not many will answer in the affirmative for this organization was one of the very first brass instrument bands in the U. S. Many of the horns used by the musicians were brought over from the old country and they certainly look as though they had. They were German made. However those who remember the music will subscribe to the fact that they were real harmony producers.Every one of these old time musicians are now deceased. They are: Standing—L. Auman, F. Braunig. J. Auman, 0. Gelbke. E. Franzel and J. Chesteck: Seated—F. Neidert, J. Auermillor. K. Ansorge and R. Fraenzel.
