Afterwards proceedings werebegun before ’squire Collins, against GeorgeBrock, for bastardy, he being charged withbeing the father of the child. Before theease came to trial Brock married the girl,and the case was dropped. After marryingthe girl Brock immediately deserted herand has made no provision for the supportof the child, and suit is now brought by thewife against her husband, for bastardy.As ’squire Collins is needed tus a witnessby the defendant, a change of venue wastaken, and the case sent to'squire IIuckcbyI where the matter will jikelv ne tried this jevening.u_ It will he remembered that an account of a similar proceeding in Monroe county, w as jmbti bed in the Lk!m;ki:-Stam*\rti» sonic months ago. In that case the judge of the circuit court decided that marriage was no bar to the action for bastardy, and that where the parties wi re married, and the husband left his family, are! failed to provide for the child, an union won hi lie, and n gave judgment against the defendant.The matter has never been settled by the supreme court, and the case presents some js novel questions for the lawyers and courts to determine.iini,'i
