Dr. R. J. Sirny Dies in Texas Of Heart AttackAS«SAUK CITY - Dr. Robert J. Sirny, 53, formerly of Sauk City, died unexpectedly Thursday (July 26, 1973) to his Denton Tex., home of an apparent heart attack.DrlabdieHo3notthelercaitotat1So19;UBeticle:of1CwillScHISBorn in Witwen, he received his doctorate in microbiologyfrom the University ofWiseonsin-Madison.■ Dr. S i r n y married Dorothy Harrison of Stoughton in 1M2.Since 19?2, he was dean of Household Arts and Sciences at Texas Women’s University, Denton.From 1950 to 1961 he served as professor ol biochemistry at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.Dr. Sirny also served as chairman of the Division of Human. Nutrition School of Home Economics at the University of Minnesota from 1961 to 1972. He was a member of the following academic organizations — Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Zeta, Ti Kappa Phi, and Sigma Xi, and the American Assn. of ir Advanced Science.He was also a member of the American Institute of Nutrition, American Chemical Society, Society for American Microbiology, American Society for Advancement of Science, American Diabetics Assn., American Home Economics Assn., and American Assn. of UniversityProfessors.He was a retired lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve.Surviving are bis wife, Denton, Tex.; three sons, Robert H. and John E., both or Minneapolis, Minn.; and Richard P., St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter, Mari-lee, at home; his mother, Mrs. Jacob Sirny, Sauk City; and a brother, Rudolf, Prairie du Sac..The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the First United Church of Christ. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday atj the Zimmermann Funeral Home.The family suggests memorial's to the Robert J.
