J. Shelby, president I of the Joplin Trades Assembly and business agent for that organization.Final plans for the organization of the clerks were completed at a meeting yesterday afternoon. Shelby has sent to the headquarters of a clerks’ union at Lafayette, Ind., for a charter.More than 100 applications for membership in the organization have been received by Shelby, he said. George 11. Woodson, a state organizer for the union, spent the last two weeks in Joplin, working on the plans for the new branch. He will remain until next Wednesday.
