Elsie L. StoneServices for Mrs. Elsie L. Stone, 86, a guest of Mountain Laurel Nursing Center, Clearfield, and formerly of Clearfield, who died Wednesday,Jan. 28, at the center, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.Minister Gary Bailey will officiate. Interment will follow in Stoneville Cemetery, Boggs Township.Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until the hour of services onSaturday.Mrs. Stone was bom in West Decatur R.D., Oct.21, 1900, the daughter of Edward and Annie (Mease) Dickson. .Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Stone taught elementary school in the Stoneville and Spring Valley areas. During World War II, she was employed at the former Airplane Marine Corp., Hyde, and later byMacGregor Manufacturing Co., which she retired from in 1965 after 20 years of service.Mrs. Stone was a former member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Woodland, where she had taught the Philathea Sunday School class for many years. She later attended West Side Untied Methdist Church and was a member of the West Side Church of Christ,Clearfield.She was a former 4-H leader in the Clearfield area and was active with the Retired Senior Citizens Volunteer Program. She also had done volunteer work at the former Clear Haven Nursing Home and the Clearfield Hospital. She was a former member of the Blue Ball Grange and the Clearfield Golden AgeClub. .Mrs. Stone is survived by these children, Mrs. Beryl Kenyon and Mrs. Keith (Sybal) Owens, both of Clearfield, DuPont D. of Dolan Springs, Ariz., Elwood A. of West Decatur R.D.; 11 grandchildren: 19 greatgrandchildren; and these sisters and a brother, Mrs. Maude Thompson of Brockway, Mrs. Catherine Couturiauxand Mrs. Mildred Marty, both of Philipsburg, and Mac Dickson of WestDecatur. .She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd F. Stone, in 1964; four sisters, Mrs. Dorcas Wisor, Mrs. Arlene Cathcart, Mrs. Glenna Bauman and Mrs. Leona Husted- and one brother, Davis Dickson.
