Circuit Court.The argument of the celebrated divorcesuit from the town of La Prairie, entitled Elizabeth Leavenworth against Ira II. Leavenworth, wa3 taken up tc-day. The testimony therein was completed about two weeks ago, but the argument was deferred by reason cf the large amount of business on hand. Miss Lavinia Goodell made the opening address for the plaintiff this morning, in which she reviewed the testimony and cited numerous authorities. The effort of Miss Goodell added, in the estimation ot all who heard her, to the flattering reputation she has made for hertelf as an advocate at the bar. The argumenton the part of the dctendant was maue by John R. Bennett. Esq., who was replied to by John Winans, Esq., for the plaintiff The courtroom was thronged, during the pleas of the counsel, by parties from La Prairie, where this case is exciting the greatest interest.
