Tbe court-house campus was the scene, Monday, of a sensational hair pulling in which a negligent husband, his swset-heart and tbe deserted wife were the actors. Cbas. Piews and bis wife, nee Miss Cora Barnett, have not been living together for some time. Home two or three years ago they eepa-rated and the wife, then a mere girl though a mother, tried to take her life with morphine. Afterwards they lived together again but tbe family relations did not continue many moons. During that period Mrs. Piews wm jealous of a Mrs. McLemore, whose maiden name was Nicholson, and on two or three oocasious she has tried to assault that personage. She and her husband have bad frequent fusses in public and both have laoded in Jail— tbe wife once at least. Her brother-in law got her out a few days ago by pay* ing her fine. On Monday she was sick and had been in bed, but got up and came out in town just in time to find her husband and tbe Nicholson woman walking together in tbe court-house ya-d. Piews ran one way ard the woman the other, but Mrs. Piews overtook tbe latter, tore her hat, pulled her hair and gave her a great fright but did not hurt her much. It is an uufortunate case. Piews doesn’t seem to be extremely bad and bis wife comes of an average good family. There are many who ^believe that Mrs. Piews’ mind is unbalanced eomebwat by her troubles and that she should receive medical treatment. I
