Getter, a ntive of Viroqua, Wis., and a graduate of Minnesota Bible College, has been a missionary in Central India for the past 25 years. He will be speaking at the Church of Christ at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20. He has been labouring amongst a group of tribal aborigines where the living conditions and the agricultural methods are considered to be amongst the most primitive in this day and age.Evangelism has been the prime thrust of his mission program. He works with 75 churches and a Bible Seminary where church leaders are trained for the ministry of the Word.Over 2.000 students lienefit educationally and spiritually in the Mission sponsored schools consisting of 20 primary schools and two middle schools. A Children's Home with over 130 children enrolled has been made self - supporting through an agricultural project whereby rice, wheat and vegetables arc grown to meet their own needs. Surplus wheat seed has been made available to the tribal farmers in exchange for rice and this has resulted in morethan 5,000 acres of land now being under wheat cultivation in the winter season as a second crop in this immediate area.Indian artifacts and clothing will be shown in addition to the presentation of the India Mission work via the media of super slides.
