Club ChangesMeeting TimeLions To ConveneDuring EveningAt thetr last regular meeting the La Crosse Lions Club decided to change meeting dates to the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month and the meeting time to 6:30 p.m.In announcing this change. Harry Kewburg, president, said: “We know that there are a lot of men in this area who would like to belong to a service club but find it inconvenient or impossible to attend noon meetings each week. We want to make the Lions Club available to everyone who is interested.Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 29. and every second and fourth Tuesday of each month thereafter, the dub will meet at the Linker Hotel at146:30 p.m. Anyone who enjoys good food, good fellowship and is interested in participating in community services is eligible to attend our meetings.**The International Association of Lions Clubs is the largest, as well as the most active, service club organization in the world. There are 8,965 Lions Clubs in 31 countries with 425,000 members.The La Crosse Lions Club is one of the oldest in the State and soon!iKabert W. Freimann (above), 21, is being held by the FBI in Chicago after they said he admitted that he registered 40 times for the draft to get identification needed to cash 47,700 instolen checks. Harry T. O’Connor, head of the Chicago FBI office, said among checks stolen was one for $60 from the government to Mrs. Joe Willie Riley, a Gold Star mother whom the draft board classified 1-A andlt;lt;- -will celebrate its 30th anniversary. The local club participates in many 'community projects and for many years has sponsored an “Aid tothe Blindftprogram,«•which includes the annual “Blind Banquet.” i Information concerning member-ordered to report for induction.
