On Dec. 17 of last year May Kirby, aged only 15 years, was married in this city to James O. Tefft, aged 21, of Jacksonville, a brukeman on the Wabash railroad, the ceremony being performed by Justice Michael Myers. The girl is the daughter of Mrs. Mary M. Kirby, of Springfield, who unwisely gave her consent to the union of her daughter with Tefft. Mrs. Tefft alleges in her bill for divorce, filed yesterday in the Sangamon circuit court, that her husband took her to Litchfield immediatelyafter the nuptials and there deserted her.A dispatch to the Chicago Tribune
