SYBIL BAYAfter a lengthy illness, Sybil Bay died peacefully at St. Paul's Home, Dauphin, Manitoba on February 13, 2002 at the age of 87 years.She was predeceased by her husband Saul on July 18, 1996; her parents Jacob and Bessie Buckwold; sisters: Ceil (Jim Greenblat); Elsie (Joe Toll); Rita (Irving Cooper); brothers; Percy and Alf Buckwold.Lovingly remembered by her son Jack and his wife Margot of Dauphin, MB; daughter Sheila and her husband Ken Katz of Winnipeg. MB;grandchildren Brian Katz and his wife Lisa of Toronto, ON; Marty Katz and his wife Laura of Toronto, ON; Barry Katz and his wife Nikki of Vancouver, B.C.; Jason Alf of Dauphin, MB; Kamara Alf and her fiance Chad Gudbjartson of Dauphin, MB; great grandchildren: Noa and Sacha Katz; Maya Katz and MacKenzie Katz; brother Harvey Buckwold of Dauphin, MB; brother-in-law Chuck Bay and his wife Frances of Los Angeles, CA; and sisters-in-law Doris Buckwold; and Goldie Frankelson; as well as many nieces and nephews.Sybil Buckwold was born and raised in Dauphin, MB where she met and married Saul Bay in 1935. They raised their family there and spent many summers at their cottage at Dauphin Lake.Sybil will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother, devoted wife and a caring friend. Sybil was our Happy Walker!, known to many to have walked miles and miles in the town she loved.A memorial service was held on Monday, February 18, 2002 at the Riverside Evergreen Chapel, Dauphin, MB. Pastor Scott Allen officiated and interment followed in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.Friends who so desire, may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to the Dauphin and District Community Foundation.Special thanks to the loyal and friendly staff at St. Paul s Home, where she resided since Saul s death inl996.Riverside Evergreen Chapel had care of the funeral arrangements.
