THE HAWORTH DIVORCE CASE.Mr*. Julia A, lluworth, sued her 1ms- \ bum! Job S. Haworth, of Cass township, for a divorce, and the ca.se was heard in the district court yesterday. The Judge grants the divorce, blit has not yet made his disposition of the questions of alimony and property. ]. I. Detail o np- j pears for plaintiff, and Temple A Phelps j mid Smith Morris for defendant. The plaintiff gives os a reason for her application that the defendant is an habitual drunkard, and that lie has been cruel to her, striking and beating her at times. The defandant makes counter charges against plaintiff, but the court evidently did not believe them. The couple were married July 23P 1857, and have five children, the youngest being 11 years of age. Ten years ago Job Haworth was a prosperous ami respected man, the head of a happy family. Since then he has given himself to drink and has well nigh gotten rid of his competency. The beat and manliest thing he could do would be to quit the uaeofliquor forever, go back and implore the pardon of the wife and fiunily he has tinquestionnbly greatly wronged, and try to be a better tnnir in the fntnre.
