He was convicted. of obstructing the draft by urg-ving members of his church not to register, and was sentenced to scrvc^ a term at a government prison withtwo of his elders. Sykes lost an appeal in the court of appeals in San Frantisco. The United States supreme court recently upheld bykes conviction.
