The next case called is that of Mary Gietznauer vs. Geo. S. Nestle, sheriff, on replevin. Salinger Korte appeared for plaintiff and M. W. Beach for defendants. This is a case growing out of the desertion of the wife of Geo. Meredith last June. The wife after finding she was deserted got out an execution and attached the personal belongings of her husband for the support of herself and child. After the levy had been made the mother of Geo. Meredith replevined the property setting up the plea that she, and not her son, is the rightful owner of it* The case was on trial all day yesterday and this forenoon and will not likely be finished today. The same jury which is trying this case has been selected to try that of Korte vs. Oden-dahl. This will complete the work of the present term. Chas. Brown, one of the jurorb, was taken suddenly ill this forenoon and was removed to his home in the Fourth ward.
