THAT INGALL’S CASE.»Lore Is Treated Indepeedcmt—TheGirl’s Suit.On the twenty- seventh day of last Oe-tober Grant Ingalls and Bites Lotta Wakefield were united In nmrrtege by Justice Ormiston. Several days age Buffalo papers announced that Gram Ingalls had been granted an abeolute divorce from Lotta Ingalls by JudgeChilds. That such a suit was pending | was stated In a recent ferae otthePATBl* OT.Reeldent^inXubaandvleinltywhoon what ground the suit. was granted and various opinions have been advanced. 'A Patriot representative has investigated the case and elicited the following facts: The couple took Up their rerf-dence with Grant IugalTs father when they lived until Dec. 18. While she wae living with hlfin lie brought acttonfortdr vorce in which he swore that abojiVNon 6,th his wife commilted-adftltery. The papers were served Nov. 16th and it Is aileged lhgails told his wife to say uoth-inghbout it and burn them. Meanwhile he entered his suit for divorce.- The plaintiff employed W. C. Windsor of Caa-esaraga, tor his attorney and the casewas tried' in the Supreme Court of Allegany county. The non-appearance of the d efendant (who was not aware of the proceedings) gave Ingalls his case.It seems that on Dec. 18th he sent Me wife to her father at Wolf Run, who. oe Dec. 23d found the papers that had been served upon her, among her belongings. Learning this fact her stepmother brought her to Attorneys Todd Anne-strong and prepared papers for Feb. 20th at Buffalo, to open default to set aside the judgment and allow her (the defend-a nt), to answer and secure alimony.
