UlUli *In a hearing yesterday afternoon on a'*petition for temporary alimony filed by Mrs. Sudie Lee Harrod against James H. Harrod* bookkeeper at the Beauvoir Soldiers’ Home* I Chancellor Russell held that Harrod should pay $20 per month pending trial of Harrod’s suit for divorce and that $40 should be paid by Harrod to Mrs. Harrod’s attorney.A humorous incident occurred following the court’s ruling when counsel for Mrs. Harrod, a Cantou lawyer, insisted that Harrod pay the attorney's fee at once or at least a part of it. The chancellor directed that he pay $10. but Harrod boldly informed the court that he had only $7.50 and the court quickly replied that he could pay that amount, and the money was immediately handed over in open court.Harrod resisted his wife’s petition for alimony pendente lite on the grounds that be was not financially able ro pay and a two-hour hearing was held in which counsel for her sought to show that he was earning a good salary in the state’s employ at Beauvoir.
