COURT NEWSCOVINGTON, Feb. 5.—Mrs. Anna Gott, of1 Mellott, who early last week secured a divorce from her husband, was in Covington again on Thursday,when a marriage, license was granted*to her and John M. JEhrie, a farmer of near Wingate. They were married by Mayor Wert. The records show the the groom ;is 41 years: old and that the bride is 26.The first skirmish in the domesticstrouble of Thomas Bailey and Nell Bailey was had in court last week when, the latter filed suit for divorce making serious charges. Mrs. Bailey countered' by filing a cross complaint, with the request for support end funds to conduct the suit. Bailey pleaded1 poverty and attempted to showed how his wife had dissipated his bank account. He said he had a good account 'when he was married but now his only property consisted of a plug team, a log wagon, both mortaged heavily -and he aio testified that he was without means to hire an attorney for himself.Mrs. Bailey testified that she hiad never cashed any checks- as alleged by Bailey and that she had been living in Crawfordsville for some time working at house work to earn her board. She said she had information that Bailey was earning from $35 to $45 a week. A banker of Hillsboro was called as a witness and hetestified that some of the cancelled checks bore the signature of Nell Bailey but he did not know that all of th§m did. The court finally told Bailey, who is 62 years old, that it was not absolutely necessary that he pay the defendant’s attorney but that if he so wished he could at some future time give her $15 as attorney’s fees. Mrs. Bailey is 27.
