Alexander Rice Sr., 73. 715 Millville Ave., died at FortHamilton Hughes Hospital at 12:45 a.m. Monday.He was born in London. Kv.. the son of William and Melinda Thompson Rice, and attended punlic schoolsthere.He married Eva Jones, April 2i, 1924 in Covington,Ky. He was a machinist first at the Ford Plant and then with the Baldwin Lima-Hamilton Co. He retired in 1969.He was a member of the Mount Auburn Baptist Church.He leaves the wife, Eva; five sons, Alexander Rice Jr., Edward Rice and Eugene Rice, all of Hamilton, Corliss Rice, Fairfield, and Paul Rice of Newark; three sisters. Miss Daisy Rice of Danville, 111.,Mrs.' Opal Umphenour ofWarren. Mrs. LindaEndecott of North Hollywood, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Private services will be Wednesday at the Webb Funeral Home. No visitation.Burial will be in Millville Cemetery.Those who desire may contribute to the Butler County Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Rice.
