Firemen Handle Theater SmudgeNot all the drama and excitement at the State Theater was on the screen Sundav afternoon. There also was a fire in the basement at 1:50 p.m. when paper containers apparently ignited from hot coals in the furnaceroom.Little of the smoke filtered into the theater proper and there was no delay in show production. Only damage was from smoke in the furnace room and coal bin, the fire being confined to waste paper.
