Krost, lifelong resident and former mayor of Crown Point, died at his home on East street last night after an illness of about a year. Death was attributed to a paralytic stroke.Mr. Krost was for years one of the city’s leading dentists and had always been prominently identified with affairs of the community. He was horn here February 13, 1ST4, attended the public m hools and later took a commercial course in Notre Dame university. In 1900 he graduated from the pharmacy department of Valparaiso, and two years later graduated from the Chicago College of Dental Surgery.He was deputy recorder of Lake county from 1S92 to 1896 and in 1911 was elected to the city council when the city form of government Mas adopted. During the last illness of Mayor Harold H. Wheeler, Mr. Krost was acting mayor, and on the death of Mr. Wheeler, the city council elected Mr. Krost mayor. He was reelect'd mayor in 1914 for a term of four years.Surviving are his wife, May Lathrop Krost, whom he married in 1895, and two sons. Karl and John F. Krost, both of Crown Point. John F. is a justice of the peace. He also leaves his step-mother, Mrs. Mary Krost; three brothers. Dr. Herald Krost of the Wesley Memorial hospital staff. Dr. Joseph Krost of Chicago, and John Krost. in Germany, and a sister, Mrs. Edward J. Eder of Crown Point.Tho funeral will be held Saturday afternoon from the Geisen funeral home here. Rev.
