McKinney faces three charges, drawing deadly weapon, intoxication, and surety of the peace. ‘It required three men to overpower him when an attempt was made to place the drink-crazed miner under arrest, and he was placed in the handcuffs Friday night, as he was led to the IShelburn lock-up. He had quieted down Saturday and was brought to jail here by Sheriff Frank Wible without difficulty•McKinney filled with bad whiskey, started on hs rampage early Fridayand toward night became dangerous. The officers were not notified until he came home and brandishing his big firearm began abusing his wife and threatened to shoot her in her tracks.Officer Curt McCoskey, Constable Art Weaver and a brother of Mrs. McKinney succeeded in throwing him down after a fiierce struggle, in which the danger from a fusillade of bullets was imminent, and he was half dragged to the town calaboose where ne spent the night.Charges will be filed against him in the Circuit court it is understood. His actions at his home in Shelburn Friday night struck the town with terror, and many feared he would vent his wrath on some of the residents there and murder would result.
