Wis. Entertainment was furnished by the Old Style barbershop quartet.The football play crs. after putting away large quantities of delicious food, joined in communitysmging and then were entertained with several outstanding selections by the quartette.Introducerector at the college introducedVan Gelder whom he termed “the best athlete to don a uniform for La Crosse.” Wittich pointed out that Van Gelder as well as being a good student was a three letter man in football, basketball and track and also took part in a large intramural program.Van Gelder. who was graduated from the college in 1932. taught and coaches at South Milwaukee before coming to Washington Park nine years ago. Smith thenintroduced each member of thesquad and pointed out several phases of the past season.Wittich. ohvsical education diVan Gelder told the Peds ofsome of the problems they will run into in their future coaching jobs. He told them that the firstthing to do is get a masters degree and then look for a job.
