The new lightship Milwaukee No. 95 was on Saturday, November 30, placed in position at her station outside of the harbor after- which she is named. This is located 3 miles 90 degrees east from the pierhead range front light. She is equipped with a steam fog whistle which in'thick weather will sound a'3 second blast, with 7 seconds, silent interval, followed by a 4 seconds blast and 46 seconds silent interval. In case the whistle shouldbe disabled a bell will be Used. This is- the largest lightBhip on the Great Lakes, and* carries a crew of nine men, being in command of Capt. Hiram S. Hill, with A. B. Evans as engineer. ,She will remain in commission the year around.
