INTOLERABLE CRUELTY.Allegation of Mrs Herbert Mason in Suit for Divorce from Prominent New Haven Man.NEW HAVEN, Dec 4~Herbert Mason, secretary of the Security insurance cbm-pany of thie city, was sued today fi.r divorce and $25,000 alimony by Mrs Annie Congdon Gardner Mason. Mr Mason and Miss Gardner were married Feb 17 of this year. Mr Mason was then 52 years old and his bride 3o.In the writ it is alleged among other things that since March, 1003, the defendant has been guilty of intolerablecruelty and habitual intemperance. H is also set up that Mr Mason is worth $75,000, and Mrs Mason asks for 125,000 alimony and the restoration of her maiden name, Miss Gardner.Three pieces oi personal property ana cash on deposit with the Yale national bank, and with the Mercantile safe ue-posit company, were attached.Previous to her marriage to Mr Mason, Mrs Muson was employed as a stenographer in the offices of the Security in surance company. The marriage was n surprise to New Haven society, Mr Mason s first wife having died only a short time before. .
