NEW YORK CITY, Aug 26. —(INP)—Una Mae ..Carlisle, youngpianist, singer, arranger, and composer, sailed aboard* tne QueenMary last Wednesday on her re* turn trip to London where she is to appear with Paul Robeson In a Gaumont-Britlsh motion picture production. She is also to appear In a coming revusical at the Cafe d’Paree in London as one of the featured entertainers.Mi»s Carlisle went to London in April aa a part of the “Blackbirds of 1936”, but withdrew from thr cast five weeks ago following difficulties with Producer Leslie. She then decided to make the trip here iu order to visit her mother and steter who reside In Xenia, Ohio,. Miss Carlisle is one of the most talented of the younger song stylists. She exhibited so much talen' tihat Paul Robeson became interested in «her and aided in 'securing the motion pictuns contrao. for the British cinema. Upon her departure last week she intimatedthat 6he will seek permanent European citizenship papers, vowing never to again appear in an American production. She is well known in night cVub circles on Broadway and in Tin Pan Alley, being one of the few Negro women to appeal , in an ofay Broadway club as a specialty artist. Her last appear, ance was at ^he very exclusive Leon and Eddie’s in East Fifty-second street.
