GETS THREE MONTHSFOR LEAVING WIFERUT GAN GET JOSWalter F. Bmeminer Given Chance to Do His DutyBy His FamilyWalter F. Bruemmer, arrested at Milwaukee on a charge of wife abandonment, was sentenced to three months in the county jail by Judge R. S. Cowie this morning and immediately paroled to the sheriff to give him an opportunity of going to work and supporting his family.Bruemmer indicated when he was arraigned in county court last week that he wanted to support his family I and A. C. Wolfe, attorney for Mrs. Bruemmer, spoke in his behalf when he was arraigned this morning.Judge Cowie modified the divorce decree granted Alice Bortz against Edward P. Bortz last March. Under the decree granted today Mr. Bortz is obligated to pay $40 per month for the support of his three children and $20 for his former wife. With payments already made he is in arrears $80. Judge Cowie allowed him 30 days to get a job and make the payment. Bortz was arrested at Michigan City and brought back to La Crosse on a non-support charge. He will return to Michigan City and attempt to get his old position.
