Sheldon answers call toChurch of Christ hereAlan Sheldon, his wife Judy and son Brad have answered the call extended by the Church of Christ ‘Christian* to serve with the local congregation as an associate minister. The Sheldon family moved into Austin on Saturdav. August 10, and they live at 800 10th Ave. NW.Alan is 24 years of age and graduated from High School in Webster City. Iowa, in 1968. and from Minnesota Bible College in Rochester in 1972. with a B A.degree in ministry.During his college career he served as youth minister inChurch of Christ at Sheldon.Wis. as well as working with youth in the Coon Rapids Church of Christ. He also served in a weekend ministry at the Church of Christ in Bristow,Iowa, before accepting a call from the University Heights Christian Church in In-dianapolis, Ind. following his College graduation f While in college he served as pianist for a mixed quartet ;Gospel team for 3 years, sang in the King s Choristers for 4 years, and served as StudentCouncil President during his junior year. He was selected to be listed in the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities” and to the Delta Epsilon Chi Honor\IW SHELDONSMrs. Sheldon is also a graduate of M B.C. with a B A. jn Christian Education and is originally from Marshalltown, Jowa. This is the similar role vacated by David Harmon, predecessor to Sheldon, who resigned to attend graduate school at Lincoln Christian Seminary in Lincoln. III.The Sheldons have formerly been introduced and welcomed to the congregation by vice -chairman of the Eldership, Mel Lager vail giving them a long stem rose symbolizing their being in Austin to begin a new’ year in the ministry for Christ with the congregation. Also a noon pot - luck dinner was held last Sunday which featured a food shower in honor of the Sheldon.St.onDancarpassreer
