The oil ice rs immediately began the search for the man of the house.Suspicion wa du» cted to Rigney by an officer spying t-hi ee bicycle tires iiu- i der the porch at Rigney's home. Rigney denied all knowledge of the tires He said they belonged to another party. The prisoner admitted that he had taken the other material. He said he did not know why he took it as he had no particular use for it. It is suspected that similar material haa been disposed of to persons who could make I use of it. The prisoner had little to say beyond the fact that he took the goods. In the collection of stuff which Marshal Self deposited with Squire Young were chains, sprockets, cups, cones, axles, spok* s, hubs and in fact all the smaller pari s that goto make up a bicycle.Representatives of the Ariel Cycle Manufacturing company identified all the material except the tires as the property of that company. Rigney was employed in the nickeling department for the greater part of the time he was with the company and he probably appropriated the stuff as it went through that department. Rigney was a trusted employe of the company and no one was more astonished at the developments than those who had employed the accused. He had been one of those employed in taking the stock.Rigney was visited at the jail by Squire Young yesterday morning and after talking with the prisoner the justice fixed his bond to appear at the higher court at £200. Rigney is a young man who is but lit Me past nineteen years of age. He has a wife and two children.
