Eberle decided to end his existence and thrust a keen-edged knife across his throat, making a deep incision from ear to ear. He failed to cut the jugular vein, however, and his suicidal attempt was unsuccessful. Eberle lies at Mercy hospital with his wound sewed up and he will recover.When informed that he would not die.♦he showed no signs of penitence for his rash act, but on the contrary remarked that he would do a better job next time. Eberle is a resident of East Dubuque and a half-blsoded Indian.
