ONE DIVORCE GRANTED; ANOTHER ON THE WAYSusan Soto was granted a divorce in the superior court against her husband, Jacinto Soto, and the custody of their only child a daughter, placed in the hands of the mother The defendant failed to appear and it was alleged in the papers that the plaintifT did not know of his whereabouts; that the last time he was heard from he was living at Mesa, Arizona. They were married at Washington, Santa Cruz county. March 2. 1903, and it is alleged the defendant for one year previous to the riling of the complaint had not supported the plaintiff and child. The desertion took place the same year of themarriage.Another instance of the dart of cupid going amiss was demonstrated in the complaint of Mrs. Bessie Tofstupali against her husband. Harry Topstu- j pail, filed yesterday in the superior court, This woman alleges that herhusband has not supported her for more than one year.
