At the Court House.Deahl £ Deahl, attorneys for Ida L. Roach have commenced divorce proceedings against James 8. Roach. Theparties who are well known were married Oct. 17, 1891 and lived together as husband and wife until Aug. 12, 1895, when it is alleged the defendant abandoned the plaintiff. It is also claimed thai Roach is guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment and that he on frequent occasions struck his wife and used foul and indecent language. The plaintiff’ asks that the bonds of wedlock be dissolved, that she be given the custody of her two children, Beulah, aged G and Israel, aged 5 years and that the defendant be ordered to pay $5 per week toward their support.bounty Commissioners Nye, VVallev and K)unison and Auditor Foster are at La Fayette today, inspecting the Elkhart county soldiers cottage, which was recently completed and which is one of the finest cottages at the homeEx-treasurer E. A. Campbell is still at work examining his records but expects to complete the task in a short time. He has labored hard in his effort to establish his innocence and feels satisfied that he can account for the larger portion of his reported shortage.
