Shelby L. MorrisShelby Lawana Morris, 55, of Grottoes died July 31, 1993, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, where she had been admitted July 24,Mrs, Morris was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Grottoes and was a daughter of Howard T, and Effie Gill Morris.She was a member of First Baptist Church in Grottoes. She had been active in the Rockingham Weekday Religious Education Association, including being the recording secretary. She also taught at New Hope Elementary School in Augusta County for 29 years.On Aug. 16, 1958, she married Donald L. Morris, who survives.In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by three sons, Gregory Lewis Morris of Richmond, Dale Lynn Morris of Boston, Mass., and Mark Loring Morris of Route 11, Harrisonburg; two brothers, Edward T. Morris of Grottoes and James H. Morris of Venice, Fla,; one sister, Mildred B. Hiner of Waynesboro; and two grandchildren.The Rev. Donald Meadows willconduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Side Baptist Church, 715 W. Wolfe St., Harrisonburg. Burial will be private.The family will receive friends at the Morris home at any time. Friends also may call at the Kyger-Pence Funeral Home near McGaheysville.Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Grottoes Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 307, Grottoes, Va. 24441.
