Baptist Revival at Hlercedew.Special to Th* K«wsa^ Mercedes, Tex,, April 23.—Rev. T. VT Neal, pastor of the Prospect Hill Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. W. H. Petty of Brownsville, Is conducting a ten-day protracted meeting* here. Much interest Je manifested In the meeting, and it Is likely that the church which the Baptist denomination is endeavoring: to erect here will be hastened In the building' as a result. The proper board at Atlanta has assured the denomination here that It Will appropriate $4*000 to the building fund of the Mercedes congregation under certain conditions, which have been met, and formal application for the 11,000 has been made to the Atlanta hoard. Over $1,000 has been pledged locally, and*-this, with other money which Jt Is hoped to secure.will give a building fund ofabout $2,000. Lots on which to erect the building have already been secured, and the indications are now that the church will he erected at an early day.The Seventh Day Adventist denomination has completed its church on the corner of Pmirtli street and Missouri avenue, but pending the arrival of furniture services are held in the public school building on Texaj avenue.
