Whiting, sought to break the spell by taking her husband’s pants and his handkerchief to the fortune teller to hold in front of her while she waved thejnazic wand.The above was revealed from apetition for a divorce filed in Hammond Superior court today by Attorney Harry Powers, representing Anthony Silvasi, who is seeking a divorce from Ws wife, who believes jfc fortune tellers and has spent large .sums for the comfort and consolationVhat they sometimes give.{ “It embarassed Tony when his wife %ok his pants away,” Attorney .Powers exclaimed, while filing the suit.“She thought that would break the spell. - A fortune teller told her ijiat her husband did not love her any more and that women of the neighborhoodhad stolen it from her.”Mrs. Silvasi’s belief in fortunetellers was so devout that when one told her to leave her husband she packed up her suit case and left thenote:“I don’t love you any more and I’m leavisg you,” it said.The couple were married February 11, 1930 and separated a few weeks later, when the magic of the fortune telling became too acute.
