M l Noble, when Fred Gueswinc, of Morris, was charged with the abduction of 3-year old Bobby Hop-craft. Win. J. Battley, provincial! morality inspector is prosecuting. The case was remanded for a week.According to Mr. Hopcraft, until a year ago, ho and his wife lived happily together in a little home.! Gueswinc, who was his wife’s former sweetheart, appeared on the scone, then troubles came thick and fast.Consents to Boarderin a moment of unguardediiess. Both went to live with her mother at Morris.Shortly after this VIr. Hopcraft decided to move to a town near Toronto. When he got his business) under way, he notified his wife and asked her to join him, bringing with her their three-year-old child. Sherefused.On making Inquiries, Hopcraft found that his wife was living in Hopcraft s own home with Gues-wine, he said. ' * ^He Kinds HerHo sought legal advice and found he could obtain no redress. The police were asked to watch the pair, and this Morality Inspector Battley did. His opportunity came last Friday when he discovered that Mr.Gupswlne and Mrs. Hopcraft had come to reside in Winnipeg, bringing the child with them. The fact that Gueswinc took the child from its home and brought it to Winnipeg is alleged to have constituted the crime of abduction for which the penalty is seven years.
