Hamill J. Murphy, 84. of 4309 Ozark Dr. NE. died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, in Northbrook Manor Care Center following a long illness. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Pius XCatholic Church, by the Rev. Donald Klein. Inurnment will be private. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charee ofarrangements.Survivorsinclude three sons, T. Patrick Murphy and wife Sharon of Center Point, Michael Murphy and wife Gloria ofFremont,Calif., and Shawn Murphy and wife Marcy of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Margo Uhre and husband Larry of Camby, Ore., and Tina Ni-chelberg and husband Paul of Tucson. Ariz.; two brothers, Allen Murphy of Winthrop and Arch Murphy of Waverly; two stepsons, Kim Mohr and wife Jane of Marion and Rory Mohr and wife Shelley of San Francisco, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom Murphy; and a sister, Rosemary' Shea.Hamill was born July 18. 1917, in Bancroft, the beloved son of Thomas and Rose Hamill Murphy. He married Patricia Marshall in 1961 in Cedar Rapids. He was an electrician until his retirement, most recently with General Electric Contractors Go.He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. IREW Local No. 405, and M and J Baseball League. Hamill was an avid golfer, and when he had the opportunity he enjoyed beating his brothers at the game. He also was an avid bowler.Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hamill’s name.
