Autopsy delayed on body found in forestHARTS RUN (AP) — A preliminary autopsy on a body found last week in the Greenbrier State Forest has left a medical examiner with unanswered questions.Dr. James Kaplan, the state medical examiner, wasn’t able to determine on Saturday either the body’s age or gender, said State Police spokesman Senior TVooper Jay Powers.Kaplan wants a forensic anthropologist to look at the remains and won’t release any information until that happens.Powers said the anthro-poligist’s examination “could come in a day, or it could be a week.’’A motorist found the partially decomposed body on Thursday. The body was over a hillside in an area where trash is frequently dumped.State Police have said the body appears to be that of a small adult or older child.Based on flesh, hair and other evidence, investigators do not believe the body is that of a Jennifer Short, a 9-year-old Bassett, Va., girl who disappeared from her home six weeks ago. Her parents were found murdered in the home.
