Father Of Local Man Is Victim Of Arkansas MurderJoe Ward of Pittsburg was notified Tuesday night of the murder of his father, Zue E. Crook in Yellville, Arkansas. Details of the murder will not be made known until the arrival of the body this (Thursday) afternoon in Flora. 'The coroner at Yellville wired local relatives that the murdered man was found in a shallow grave a few feet from his home and tnat he had been dead since Friday. Another report, as. yet unconfirmed, was that a state trooper who went to arrest the alleged murderer was also killed.Tire body of Crook is to arrive today at the Carter Funeral Home in Flora where final rites will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Max-k Malles in charge. The casket will not be opened.Born near Camden, the deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Crook. He was employed in Logansport until 7 years ago wdien he went to California. He retired on pension in May of this year.A veteran of World War I, he was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Logansport Lodge.Surviving are two sons, Joe Ward of Pittsburg and Charles of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Amand-a Metzger of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs. Alice Burns of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers, Henry Crook of Flora, Lewis of Los Angeles, and John Edward of War-renville, Illinois.JURY RETURNS VERDICT
