Crook, 59, native of Camden and for years a Logansport Pennsylvania railroad employee, was murdered at his iV.oimtain cabin near Summit, Ark., last week.His body was found in a shallow grave shortly after a state policeman also was slain at the cabin while making an investigation of burglaries in the vicinity.Sought in the double murders is Pvt Kenneth Speegle, an AWOL soldier. A road block set up after the policeman, S. V. Pavatt. was shot to death, was given up yesterday and oficers settled down to a wailing contest in the Qzark moun- . Ovc tain region. He went on pension last May and had been at the cabin only three weeks following a visit with relatives in Flora.The body is to arrive at Flora this afternoon.’It will be taken to the Carter chapel where services are to be held Friday at 2 p. m. in charge of Rev. Mark Malles. Burial will be in Moss cemetery. The casket will not be opened.During early life Mr. Crook served in the Navy and was a World War I veteran. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to Orient lodge No. 272 in Logansport.Surviving are1 two sons. Joe Ward, Pittsburg, Ind., and Charles Ward.
