I! Walks Away From Jail In Napoleon, Steals Local Car, Nabbed In IllinoisRichard O. Weirauch, Napoleon, was captured at Springfield, 111., early Sunday morning after allegedly walking away from the Henry county jail at Napoleon, looting three automobiles here and stealing another at Wayne avenue and First streets at 10 p. m. SchultzHoward Squire, merchandise sales manager of the Toledo Edison company’s Defiance Divis-radio and Sunday afternoon received a report that Illinois state police had -arrested the young man at Springfield.When captured, he was driving the 1939 Plymouth coach of Noble A. Bennett, 900 Ottawa avenue, which had been stolen in Defiance. Illinois police also reported that they found clothing and $60 in cash in the car which, Illinois of-fiers said, the youth admitted taking from automobiles parked on Defiance streets Saturday night. The money was still in a suitcase containing clothing, they reported.Defiance police today, awaited further word from Springfield where the FBI may prosecute under the Dyer act because the stolen car was taken from one state to another.Weirauch was said to have been a trusty at the Napoleon jail where he was being held for the grand jury on a charge of chicken stealing.
