Survey of 1876,“ was found by William Benedict, federal forest guard and patrolman of the Cleveland National Forest. It was discovered some two miles this side of Modjeska peak southeast of Corona, when motor trails were being built.The iron sign had apparently been placed on a post whichhad succumbed to the elementsand had become burled.
