M Koberts, a young attorney practising law in thia town, and by way of showing the people of the county that the “slayer of the Kid ” was above criticism—no mutter bow gentlemanly il might he done- proceeded to bent Mr. Koberts over the head with a Heavy revolver, striking him three tiinea and inflicting severe wounds.This brutal and totally uncalled for assault on a worthy eitisen, has lost Mr Garrett many supporters.
