He had pleaded guilty to the charge of breaking jail in June with the Shefflers and Millerlt;girl apd was given a fine of $100 and sentenced to serve two years in the Workhouse. He had been found guilty of adultery committed witi^ the Miller girl at the time of their escape and was sentenced to pay the costs, a fine of $25 and serve one year in the Workhouse after the termination of the other sentence, making three years in all,Cora Stumpf and Blair Lamar, who were convicted of keeping a bawdy house in Montgomery township, were sentenced to serve one year in the Workhouse, as well as pay the costs and fines of $100 each, Cora Stumpf was also convicted of wantonly discharging firearms at Peter Martin, a neighbor, and was sentenced to servethree months in the Workhouse following the former sentence. The defendant woman became a widow only in May and is the mother of, four small children, which the Court suggested could not receive the proper training by a mother following sueh practices and would be provided for elsewhere.
