Tillison, it is said, hopped off of his wagon and started to run. Stewart shot once and down went Tillison.But not for long, as he was soon up and running faster than ever. The gun banged again and Tillison, with beans rattling against his back, fellagain, probably thinking he was dead.But He soon found that He wits not and cuntined his run across the fields, a distance of a quarter of a mile, to the home of John Nqrvell. There ho was met by his brother and taken into Pair land, where it was found that he bad not been injured. A few iieans hanging in his long Hair anti in his clothes told the story.The two men have been eninies for some time and are said to have made threats against, each other. The story ns related Is to the effect that Tillison is the cause of the separation of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart. Mrs. Stewart with her children, 1b now living in this city. Stewart worked Jn Indianapolis for a time, hut Is now at the borne of his father northeast of Fairland.Tillison. according to the storr, was intimate with Mrs. Stewart to such a degree that it became the talk of the neighborhood. Tillison and Mrs. Stewart continued their rein-Hons until the separation occurred, ii is said.Tillison came here this afternoon and after a conference with Prosecutor Cheney, filed charges against Stewart for assault and battery with intent.
